How to set up your Android g1 for Slovenia
Lately we have been receiving lots of emails for Android g1 set up support, specifically for Slovenian market. Follow the instructions!
So, got a brand new g1? Stuck with setting it up? Follow:
After entering your username and password (the same one you use to access your Gmail account) press the MENU button on your G1. Select APN settings.
You will see a list of APN's preconfigured by T-Mobile. Since you are probably not a T-Mobile user you will have to create a new one.
Press MENU again and select the option allowing you to create a new APN.
When entering values pay close attention to MCC and MNC fields.
MCC - Mobile Country Code defines the country you are in ( for Slovenia the value is 293 )
MNC - Mobile Network Code defines the operator. For Slovenian users the following codes apply:
- Si.Mobil : 40
- Mobitel : 41
- T-2 : 64
- Tušmobil : 70
For other countries the values are listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_network_code. The rest of the fields ( APN, username, password ) must contatin values provided by your operator.
For Si.Mobil users the following values must be used:
name:
si.mobil
APN:
internet.simobil.si
username:
simobil
password:
internet
MCC:
293
MNC:
40
APN Type:
default
For MMS services the settings slightly differ.
Your network provider must provide the following:
- APN
- proxy
- port
- username and password
- MMS Proxy
- MMS Port
If you are a Si.Mobil user, use the following settings:
name:
si.mobil MMS
APN:
mms.simobil.si
proxy:
80.95.224.46
port:
9201
username:
simobil
password:
internet
MMSC:
mmc
MMS Proxy:
80.95.224.46
MMS Port:
9201
MCC:
293
MNC:
40
Thats it! Enjoy! And comment if you are still troubled. And by the way, keep in mind, most of the detailed instructions above are for Simobil users only.
